No title, no funds
UBTS never takes title to goods and never holds the buyer’s funds.
Goods move from the farmer or cooperative, through a licensed exporter wherever the law requires one, to the buyer.

Building Block 5 · Ethical & Intelligent Premium Trading
UBTS Trading Company carries forward the mandate of the former UBTS Smart Trading Program — matchmaking and transaction closure on passport-verified goods — now focused on the Premium segment. It is UAA-DP’s fourth movement, commercially housed in a dedicated company.

01Ethical by structure
The protocol measures the lot at every stage.
A premium buyer is matched to the measured attributes.
Baseline plus premium; the buyer sees the price breakdown.
Farmer or cooperative, through a licensed exporter where required, to the buyer.
The premium is shared with the farmer on terms set per transaction.
02The structural invariant
No title, no funds
Goods move from the farmer or cooperative, through a licensed exporter wherever the law requires one, to the buyer.
Never below the baseline
The market price on the day where markets are liberalised, the official farmgate price where they are administered.
Priced on science
Cup score, mycotoxins, bean count, fibre quality, moisture, footprint and environmental profile.
03How the premium works
Its flagship is premium trade: buyers who pay above baseline for protocol-measured attributes — cup score, mycotoxin levels, bean count, fibre quality, moisture, footprint and environmental profile. Broader matchmaking, marketplace access and buyer intelligence sit underneath.
The buyer pays baseline plus a premium for passport-verified quality. The premium is shared between the farmer and UBTS on terms set transaction by transaction. Protocol data is included in the premium and available to other buyers afterwards.
04Intelligent by science
Buyers search for lots by the attributes they price, and every attribute carries its source and time of measurement. The closest public comparable, the green-coffee marketplace Algrano, shows the model premium buyers already accept: the producer sets the price, and the buyer sees it together with a transparent service fee.
05Regulatory design
Every trading stream is opened country by country and crop by crop, within the regulatory perimeter that applies there.
| Market | Regime | Route to premium trade |
|---|---|---|
| Côte d’Ivoire — free-market crops (e.g. cassava, maize, rice, yam, plantain, fruit) | No administered price | First trades at launch, within the brokerage perimeter confirmed for UBTS Côte d’Ivoire SAS |
| Côte d’Ivoire — cocoa, coffee, cashew, cotton | Administered prices; cocoa and coffee exports require annual Coffee-Cocoa Council approval | Premium route through approved exporters, agreed with each regulator |
| Cameroon — cocoa and coffee | Liberalised market | Baseline is the day’s market price; opens with the CA-DP launch |
| Pipeline countries | Country by country | Each opens after its own regulatory and market mapping |
06Revenue streams
| Revenue stream | Payer | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
| Premium orchestration | Buyers, through the premium | Premium trade settled |
| Marketplace access, matchmaking, facilitation and buyer intelligence | Buyers and sellers | Per service |
What counts: premium trades settled; premium paid to producers above the baseline at delivery.
