UBTS International Corp Announces Strategic Partnership to Revolutionize Africa's Agritech Sector

YAOUNDÉ, CAMEROON – March 19, 2021UBTS International Corp, through its subsidiary UBTS Cameroon S.A., is proud to announce the signing of a landmark partnership agreement with the Platform of Local Flour Promoters in Cameroon (PROFALCAM).

This strategic alliance marks a significant milestone in UBTS’s mission to deploy cutting-edge digital infrastructure across the African continent. By integrating the UBTS Africa Agritech Digital Passport (UAA-DP) into Cameroon’s local flour value chain, the partnership aims to reduce the country’s reliance on wheat imports and bolster national food sovereignty.

Driving Traceability through Digital Product Passports (DPP)

At the heart of this collaboration is the deployment of UBTS’s proprietary UAA-DP technology. Utilizing Blockchain and Dynamic NFT (Non-Fungible Token) technology, the platform provides an immutable record of the journey of local crops such as cassava, sweet potato, maize, and plantain from the farm to the consumer's table.

"Our UAA-DP infrastructure is designed to create 'bankable' transparency in emerging markets," said Mr. Armand Gaetan NGUETI, Managing Director of UBTS Cameroon S.A. "By providing a digital proof of origin and quality, we are not just tracking products; we are building the trust necessary for local producers to access international markets and for large-scale industrial players to shift from imported wheat to certified local alternatives."

Impacting the Global "Made in Cameroon" Brand

This partnership aligns perfectly with the Cameroon National Development Strategy (SND30) and the Integrated Agropastoral and Fisheries Import-Substitution Plan (PIISAH). Key objectives include:

  • Verified Authenticity: Implementing an unfalsifiable Digital Label to ensure consumer confidence.

  • Market Expansion: Opening new, high-value opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and European markets (EUDR compliance).

  • Organizational Digitization: UBTS will lead the full digital transformation of PROFALCAM, modernizing their administrative and technical workflows to match international standards.

A Unified Vision for Agricultural Innovation

For PROFALCAM, which represents thousands of actors across the value chain, this partnership is a game-changer. Mr. NJILE George MBANDA, President of PROFALCAM, stated:

"Adopting the UAA-DP program provides our members with the digital tools needed to prove the superior quality of our local flours. This data-driven approach allows us to advocate more effectively for our sector at both the national and international levels."
